Dancing Disaster BACK

When Granny was an awful lot younger, and her legs weren’t quite so wobbly, she was one of the best dancers in the town. She used to enter lots of competitions and had plenty of medals but what she really wanted was a trophy. Granny’s dream was to win an enormous shiny silver cup and one year that dream very nearly came true...until she fell over and hurt her foot. The doctor came to look at it and said that there was no way that Granny would be able to enter the dancing competition. It seemed that nothing would stop Granny from crying until Grandad agreed to wear her sparkly dress and do the competition for her!

After a lot of falling over, and even a few tears from Grandad himself, the big day arrived. People had come from all over the country for the dancing competition. Everybody had their very best clothes on and they had been practising all year. First of all there was ballroom dancing…then some latin dancing…rock and roll dancing…and finally the disco dancing. At the end of the afternoon it was Grandad’s turn. Nervously, he stepped into the middle of the dance floor. He hoped that nobody would be able to spot that he was in disguise. The music started and he was off! Everybody loved it! They clapped and cheered at the end and the judges couldn’t believe their eyes. It was the best dancing they had seen all day!

Soon it was time to announce the winner. Everybody was very nervous, whoever would it be? It was Grandad! But then something dreadful happened. Just as he went to collect the cup, he tripped over and his wig fell off! Nobody could believe it. This had never happened before in a dancing competition. A big fight started and Granny and Grandad were disqualified from the dancing competition. Oh dear! What a disaster!
